Lesson 363
This holy instant would I give to You.
Be You in charge.
For I would follow You, certain that Your direction gives me peace.
“And if I need a word to help me, He will give it to me. If I need a thought, that will He also give. And if I need but stillness and a tranquil, open mind, these are the gifts I will receive of Him. He is in charge by my request. And He will hear and answer me, because He speaks for God my Father and His holy Son” (ACIM Lesson 361 1:1-5).
A single moment contains all we need. We need nothing more, for each breath offers us the richness and fullness of Life Eternal. Life can be so simple that we are privy its peace and perfection in an instant. Thus, what is there to worry about? What is there to strive for?
We need not worry about what lies ahead and what life may ask of us. As we place our trust in God, we know the perfect words and actions are given at just the precise moment they are needed. This is the art of giving God the clearance to be in charge and allowing Her to flow freely through our human experience. We can let go of the endless effort and rest in the grace of Her guidance.
It is not to say that you shouldn’t prepare for work tomorrow should you have a presentation or plan for your vacation so that you have a place to stay when you arrive. Remember there is a difference between peaceful and lazy. However, it is to say that in this moment God also guides you to lay the foundation for what you may need on the path ahead. The difference is, now, you don’t worry about it, for as God places the desire on your heart to finish your presentation, you peacefully do it; as God whispers to you to book an accommodation, you happily go the computer, and with joyful interest, you begin to see what God will show you as places to stay. You have come to understand more and more in how God communicates with You and you have begun to rest in Her certainty, knowing in each moment You are enough and You have enough.
As you abide in the holy spaciousness beyond words, feel the desire God places on your heart and know the perfection that lies in following it, as it guides you in the perfection of the moments to follow. That is both Union and Communion with God and it is the dance we all share with Her, for in this moment, in this breath, She shows us how we already hold everything, absolutely everything. You need search no more. Peace, perfection, and knowing are already Yours. Namaste.
