A Course in Miracles: Lesson 312

Lesson 312

I see all things as I would have them be.

“I have no purpose for today except to look upon a liberated world, set free from all the judgments I have made.  Father, this is Your Will for me today, and therefore it must be my goal as well” (ACIM Lesson 312 2:1-2)

No longer can we say, “seeing is believing,” but rather our tune has changed to that of, “believing is seeing.”  Our sight does not come from outside ourselves, instead its roots are within.  The first line of today’s lesson gives us a clear placement of where perception lies, after judgment.  Our thoughts create things, things create our reality, and reality creates our experience.  This is the cascade of our lived human experience.  Our purpose today is as clear as the correlation between judgment and perception, it is to understand more intently how you have the power to see things differently.  You have the power to be free of all judgment, as no one can stop judging you until you have stopped judging yourself and the world around you.

“Perception follows judgment.  Having judged, we therefore see what we would look upon.  For sight can merely serve to offer us what we would have.  It is impossible to overlook what we would see, and fail to see what we have chosen to behold” (ACIM Lesson 312 1:1-4)

How would you like to see things?  How would you like to experience the world around you?  The power is within you to create any shift of perception you desire.  Some areas may take a bit more commitment or willingness, however the ability indeed is there to make the change.  It all starts with the Man in the Mirror.

Along with the clarity of today’s lesson, Michael Jackson’s lyrics, Man in the Mirror, could not be any clearer.  We are the beholders of the world we see.  We are the masters of our perception.  If we want to see a world as God sees it, this is the Final Judgment, the final choice.  Actually, it is the choice that ends all choices because we now abide in a place where we no longer judge, but rather just love.  We go within, beyond all space and time, and abide in the nothingness before a judgment is created, in the womb of our thoughts, in order to be present in the birthplace of the creative mind.  This is where we can truly make the most difference, not only in ourselves, but also in the world.  From here, we are free to participate as Christ in the world and create lasting change.  It all starts with the Man in the Mirror.

I’m starting with the man in the mirror
I’m asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change

No message can be any clearer, and no purpose could be any greater than to witness the thought before the thought, the judgment before the judgment.  It is the ultimate end to insanity and to an insane world.  Committing to the choice for Love and to see ALL with the eyes of Christ, is to accept all, allow all, and love all, creating holy freedom for ALL.

“How surely, therefore, must the real world come to greet the holy sight of anyone who takes the Holy Spirit’s purpose as his goal for seeing.  And he cannot fail to look upon what Christ would have him see, and share Christ’s Love for what he looks upon” (ACIM Lesson 312 1:5-6).

For a moment today, reflect on how good and freeing it feels to not be judged yourself.  This feeling, this acceptance, and this love is what we want to extend to the world and thus, will be the reflection we receive.  Chaos and atrocities may still appear in your line of vision, however your view upon it will be miraculously different.  Just keep in mind, how would God see such things?

In closing, I leave you with words final words in Man in the Mirror.  “Make that change.”  Namaste.
