How can illusions satisfy God’s Son?
Father, the truth belongs to me. My home is set in Heaven by Your Will and mine. Can dreams content me? Can illusions bring me happiness? What but Your memory can satisfy Your Son? I will accept no less than You have given me. I am surrounded by our Love, forever still, forever gentle and forever safe. God’s Son must be as You created him (ACIM Lesson 272 1:1-8).
What is it you truly hunger for? Have you ever eaten something and was left unsatisfied, dealing with the hunger for something more? So many of us are starving but don’t know why.
There are many scientific studies that state most hunger can be traced back to dehydration. If we only drank more water, we would be more satiated throughout the day. There is some truth to this but what is missing is the importance of from which well do we get our water? Are we drinking from the eternal well of peace or the ceaseless well of illusion?
The choice for Love is as simple as the choice to look at a glass half full or half empty. It takes the same amount of energy to choose love, as it does fear. The outcome however can be very different. Love satisfies us. It runneth our cup over. While fear and illusions do nothing but drain our being. Thus, the importance is in choosing our well of replenishment wisely
Today, let your body serve as a tool to remind you to ask yourself, “What am I truly hungry for and will my next thought, action, and word satisfy my desire?” Get to know this void you are trying to fill and come to know that void, too, is an illusion. All of this is a mere dance to enlighten you to the truth that what truly satisfies you, is already yours. You are already It. Drink that in.
