Lesson 239
The glory of my Father is my own.
“We thank You, Father for the light that shines forever in us. And we honor it, because You share it with us. WE are one, united in this light and one with You, at peace with all creation and ourselves” (ACIM Lesson 239 2:1-3).
The divinity that is in our Mother-Father God, abides within us always. We are It. We were created in Her likeness, after all. Thus, how could this Truth not be so?
Yes, I know sometimes this Truth feels so far away, leaving us with the perception that the darkness is triumphant in its siege of our lives. We come to those moments and wonder, “Why am I here? What is all the “crap” for?” The cycle of suffering can be exhaustive but the answer to our darkest questions, even death, is only that of Love. Why are you here? To Love. What is all this crap for? To Love. Everything that arises in this experience called life occurs for the glory of God to shine through you. Behold, you are the question and the answer.
A simple thank you is so powerful, even uttered from lips that appear to be suffering. Just like it is “five o’clock somewhere,” your soul is always delighting and beaming in the experience you are having…somewhere within you. This is always so regardless if you can’t bear to get out of the bed in the morning or if you have no clue what to do with your life. The glorious part of You is always saying, “YES!” to each experience and emotion. You don’t always have to “love it,” but just the whisper of a thank you, recognizing the glory in each moment, can ripple you back to the Remembrance.
Shine on, sweet souls. You do not need know the how’s or why’s of this life. All you need is to just BE the glory that You are. Breath by breath. Moment by moment. Step by step. Namaste.
