Lesson 171: Review V
God is but Love, and therefore so am I.
Since our last review, we have walked more subtly within our being so as to investigate any walls or defenses we have built, so that the grace of God could shine through. We have found a few more darkened areas in which our presence has now brought Light. Today, we get the affirmation that this journey has not been taken alone. Our brothers and sisters that went before us, returning to help us move beyond any sort of review to that which is our Reality, our Home, have guided us. In particular, Jeshua comforts us with his words, as he assures us that we take this journey together and it is only by our presence that the Circle of Remembrance is complete. With this next review, we are foretold of our understanding and certainty beyond experience because of the Love from which we came.
“God is but Love, and therefore so am I” (ACIM Review V, Introduction 4:3).
Our Self that knows only Truth walks out to meet us, along with our brother Jeshua. Jeshua knows the way and knows that all fears are meaningless. He knows that our steps can be sturdy and certain, as he has already gone this way before, proclaiming that our time to return with him has already been determined. Thus, we go forth together as we make the final journey.
“I am reborn each time a brother’s mind runs to the light in him and looks for me. I have forgotten no one. Help me now to lead you back to where the journey was begun, to make another choice with me” (ACIM Review V, Introduction 7:3-5).
The statements in which we review during this time are all centered on the idea that we are as God created Us. It is not an idea that is merely experienced for a brief time, but one that leads us to the final moment of full realization. It is true that Love waits on us and depends on our presence to be complete. What is Home without the entire family?
“God would not have Heaven incomplete. It waits for you, as I do. I am incomplete without your part in me. And as I am made whole we go together to our ancient home, prepared for us before time was and kept unchanged by time, immaculate and safe, as it will be at last when time is done” (ACIM Review V, Introduction 8:5-8).
As you have witnessed from our lessons since Review IV, we have started to go beyond practice to that Which Is: Holy and Complete. We no longer depend on repeating mantras but go straight to the Heart to hear the Voice for God. We know where She abides and go beyond all words and sounds to meet Her there in perfect stillness. This is the place Jeshua leads us and this is the place from which we will return to also teach our brothers and sisters, as without them the process is incomplete.
“We place faith in the experience that comes from practice, not the means we use. We wait for experience, and recognize that it is only here conviction lies. We use the words, and try and try again to go beyond them to their meaning, which is far beyond their sound. The sound grows dime and disappears, as we approach the Source of meaning. It is Here that we find rest” (ACIM Review V, Introduction 12:2-6).
Throughout our review, we are given glimpses of the perfection that lies within and around us. Once more, these ideas will be expressed as photos from the Cosmic Conversation. With each picture, notice the grace that is embedded in each message that gives us the assurance of our Oneness, Perfection, and Love. There is nowhere Love cannot be. As you remind yourself of the Love you share with God, notice how that Love is shared and reflected in the world around you. Heaven is here and now, merely release all defenses and fears and let the grace of your brothers and sisters who have gone before you, show you the way. Namaste.
