Lesson 230
Now I will seek and find the peace of God.
“Father, I seek the peace You gave as mine in my creation. What was given then must be here now, of ray creation was apart from time, and still remains beyond all change. The peace in which Your Son was born into Your Mind is shining there unchanged. I am as You created me. I need but call on You to find the peace You gave. It is Your Will that gave it to Your Son”
(ACIM Lesson 230 2:1-6).
What is peace? A question that sounds so general and cut and dry. Yet the answer is far more varied and is not a “one size fits all.” The better question is, how do you feel peace and in what shape and form does it reveal itself to you? Peace just IS. It is our birthright, and however it expresses itself is always so personal. Truly, it is difficult to find the words to describe such a blissful state. That is why the experience of peace is so important. The key is to go beyond seeking the concept of peace to discover a place of being peace, our natural state.
Yes, we have all been seekers of peace. We have looked under rocks, searched endlessly in various jobs and partners, and even thought that, maybe, peace would come from living in a certain city. Peace can surely be reflected in such things but it is not the means of our receivership of serenity. Peace is an individual, inside job. Take for example, describing peace to someone who has not experienced peace. It would be like describing the taste of chocolate cake to someone who has never had this decadent desert. It is also to say, how do we even know we each taste the same richness when we taste chocolate cake? Such is how intimate our experience is with peace and the purpose of our lesson today.
Listen for the Voice that speaks uniquely to You. Be willing to experience peace in any shape and form. Maybe tranquility comes in the form of a calm mind or a releasing exhale or a nice nap or a mesmerizing gaze while looking upon the splendor of a rock. Peace is in each moment, that too is a miracle, as we shift our perception to recognize how the peace of God is calling to us.
“In peace I was created. And in peace do I remain” (ACIM Lesson 230 1:1-2).
Today, as you Walk in Miracles, walk in peace. It the most natural step you can ever take. Namaste.
