A Course in Miracles: Lesson 242

Lesson 242

This day is God’s.  It is my gift to Him.

“And so we give today to You.  We come with wholly opens minds.  We do not ask for anything that we may think we want.  Give us what You would have received by us.  You know all our desires and our wants.  And You will give us everything we need in helping us to find the way to You” (ACIM Lesson 241 2:1-6).

As I read today’s lesson, I am reminded of Psalm 118:24, “This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad” (NKJV).  It is not a day to explore new means of suffering but a day that is laced with the gift to release any expectations to the One Who knows how to peacefully be in this world.  We do not know the meaning of our journey nor that of our brothers and sisters.  But when handed over to God, we can be shown the magnificence of our purpose and the beauty of its unfoldment.

“I do not understand the world, and so to try to lead my life alone must be but foolishness.  But there is One Who knows all that is best for me” (ACIM Lesson 242 1:2-3).

Today, sit in the space of release:  releasing control of your life, expectations for others and yourself, and any thoughts of outcomes.  As we let go of our grip on the world, and our place in it, we leave room for peace to flood in.  God’ presence then has the space to move through us and show us the means of our saviorhood.  All we need do is recall that not only is each day God’s to use, but also each breath and each step.  Allow the flow of air from your lungs to be a whisper to God, asking for Her presence and sight.  In our release, with peace at our side, we can rejoice and be glad, as God shows us Her perfection.  Get ready for the show of your life.  You no longer led but are led.  Namaste.

We do not breathe,

but are breathed.

We do not show,

but are shown.

We do not lead,

but are led.

Rejoice!

That is the gift of God.
