A Course in Miracles: Lesson 259

Lesson 259

Let me remember that there is no sin.

“Father, I would not be insane today.  I would not be afraid of love, nor seek for refuge in its opposite.  For love can have no opposite.  You are the Source of everything there is.  And everything that is remains with You, and You with it” (ACIM Lesson 259 2:1-5).

This section in A Course in Miracles has been about debunking our thoughts of sin.  We have walked through the art of forgiveness to see that behind the act of forgiveness is our perfection.  We have learned that although our teaching methods in this world have been sometimes unorthodox, we have only been teaching one another to remember.  Thus, we have not “missed the mark,” and sinned.  Rather we have been God figuring out She is God, living out the play of salvation.

As the first three words of our lesson tells us, “Let me remember,” let us do just that, remember.  We are not learning a new trade, trick, or method of truth.  We are recalling a Truth that already exists within us.  Do you see how in remembering there is no effort?  This is because what is needed is already there, done, and accomplished.  We merely pause today, in each moment, to abide in a Truth that is true always.  We recall our eternal good nature and that of our fellow brothers and sisters.  And in doing so, we place our awareness upon the holy perfection of all beings, which has remained untouched, untarnished, and without opposite.  Therefore, as we extend this vision to our brothers and sisters, we surrender the game of student and teacher and remember our magnificent mastery.  Namaste.
