Lesson 264
I am surrounded by the Love of God.
“Father, You stand before me and behind, beside me, in the place I see myself, and everywhere I go. You are in all the things I look upon, the sounds I hear, and every hand that reaches for my own. In You time disappears, and place becomes a meaningless belief. For what surrounds Your Son and keeps him safe is Love Itself. There is no Source but This, and nothing is that does not share Its holiness; that stands beyond Your one creation, or without the Love Which holds all things within Itself. Father, Your Son is like Yourself. We come to You in Your Own Name today, to be at peace within Your everlasting Love” (ACIM Lesson 264 1:1-7).
The Course calls today’s invocation, salvation’s prayer. The words given to us to whisper, from our hearts, remind us of that which can only surround us, God’s Love. In our prayer, we reflect on the Truth that there is nowhere God is not. If we somehow feel we are alone and without God, we have fallen for the trick of illusion, thus, is the prayer for salvation our means for remembering. And that is all it is, remembering. It is witnessing our experience as the living Christ and in doing so, are we surrounded by what is innately familiar to our entire being, God’s Love. This is why we could never sin, lack anything, do anything wrong, or miss a step. We are eternally encircled in Her presence. Wherever we go, there She is. Whoever we see, there She is. Whatever we do, there She is.
In Her does the world disappear: all our illusions, striving, and straining. In Her do we come to the one present moment where past and future meet and where only the holy home resides. It is in Her eternal presence that we experience our safety and security. Do you see that what you have been looking for has been around you, and in you, all along? It is Love Itself.
Namaste.
