Lesson 267
My heart is beating in the peace of God.
“Let me attend Your Answer, not my own. Father, my heart is beating in the peace the Heart of Love created. It is there and only there that I can be at home” (ACIM Lesson 267 2:1-3).
The remembrance of our Home and heritage is so close; it is only a heartbeat away and more intimate than the external teachers and reminders we surround ourselves with inviting us to claim our divinity. We have overlooked the one reminder that resides within us, our own hearts. In this, are our bodies used wisely and properly for the awakening of all. It is the “soul” purpose of this vessel we abide in.
“Each heartbeat brings me peace; each breath infuses me with strength. I am a messenger of God, directed by his Voice, sustained by Him in love, and held forever quiet and at peace within His loving Arms. Each heartbeat calls His Name, and every one is answered by His Voice, assuring me I am at home in Him” (ACIM Lesson 267 1:5-7).
The beat of the heart that coincides with the breath we breathe is our call to abide in the peace of God that already exists within us. Think of our own heartbeats as God’s way of knocking at our door, the door of our consciousness that sees past the veil of illusion to the Truth of Her Love that surrounds us. We need look no further than within. What do you know, our own hearts held the clue and key to peace all long. Namaste.
