Lesson 276
The Word of God is given me to speak.
Father, Your Word is mine. And it is this that I would speak to all my brothers, who are given me to cherish as my own, as I am loved and blessed and saved by You” (ACIM Lesson 276 2:1-2).
“First there was the Word,” that is how powerful a word is, a verbal thought. We find ourselves uttering them consciously and unconsciously throughout any given day, however the Word of God has shown us the power that can flow through us when we consciously align our word with Hers. It was a Word, after all, that birthed all of creation.
For a moment, reflect on the energy of a word. It carries with it the sustained intention in which it was created. There is a root source to each word uttered from our lips. The question is, are we aware of the connection and to what source is that word connected: the source of Heart or source of ego?
As we abide in Her presence, the roots of our words are that of love. When we deny our lineage, that is when our words can get off-based, as we linger into the notion we are separate. We use our words to protect rather than to unify. Yet that Voice still abides in our Hearts. It is the root of our being. It is our one true Source. It goes nowhere and is ready to leave our lips at any moment. That is the power of the Word of God. It is the power that created us, the power that sustains us, and the power that continues to call us Home.
“Deny we were created in His Love and we deny our Self, to be unsure of Who we are, of Who our Father is, and for what purpose we have come” (ACIM Lesson 276 1:6).
As in leading lessons, we once more follow the theme of listening. Listen, with an open heart, to the words you shall utter throughout today. They whisper a message to you from You. Perhaps it is a reminder of your eternal Light, as you speak words of love. Or perhaps it is a reminder for you to return to your eternal Light, as the words you speak may be a bit off-colored from that of love.
Utter words from the Heart today, to yourself and to your brothers and sisters. Allow the flow of God to move through you as the Word. Namaste.
