Lesson 290
My present happiness is all I see.
“With this resolve I come to You, and ask Your strength to hold me up today, while I but seek to do Your Will. You cannot fail to hear me, Father. What I ask have You already given me. And I am sure that I will see my happiness today” (ACIM Lesson 290 2:1-4).
A Course in Miracles, and many other teachings, may be useful in observing a “happier dream,” a more pleasant illusion of this world. However to really get to the heart of the Course, the goal must be to experience real happiness, not just a skin deep appreciation for the illusion we have created. This is still using our misguided thinking. God wants us to experience the happiness of our Reality not just the happiness in our created reality. In this, there is a distinct difference between truth and Truth: between peace and a fleeting false sense of calm.
“Unless I look upon what is not there, my present happiness is all I see. Eyes that begin to open see at last. And I would have Christ’s lions come to me this very day” (ACIM Lesson 290 1:1-3).
Today, we see with the Sacred Sight of Christ. We experience a happiness that is unchangeable and undeniable. See for yourself how the Holy Spirit guides you through this awareness of Truth. Even in moments when the outer world may not appear happy, there is still a place beyond physical vision where there is a holy happiness that pervades everything and all things. This happiness is your present moment but also your “present,” your gift to yourself and the world. Namaste.
