Lesson 291
This is a day of stillness and of peace.
“This day my mind is quiet, to receive the Thoughts You offer me. And I accept what comes from You, instead of from myself. I do not know the way to You. But You are wholly certain. Father, guide Your Son along the quiet path that leads to You. Let my forgiveness be complete, and let the memory of You return to me” (ACIM Lesson 291 2:1-6).
The perfection of this lesson lies in the very first statement, “Christ’s vision looks through me today” (ACIM Lesson 291 1:1). It is in the word, through, where the importance of our effortlessness is highlighted. We do not need to strain for a vision of stillness and peace. We let go and it just flows, as the vision of the Daughter/Son of God looks through us.
It is so divinely simple. A life without suffering and a life in peace are truly found in letting go and letting God flow. All we ever wanted and desired comes to us as we claim this Sacred Sight of the Real World. We soften our gaze at the chaos and as we take a deep holy breath, our exhale transforms this chaos into calm. We experience our forgiveness and that of the world. Looking with the eyes of Christ, we can only but see the Christ in all.
There is only One World, One Holiness, and One Way to that divinity. We rest in stillness and peace, as God moves through us and guides us in experiencing a world of complete forgiveness. What a beautiful day it is when we can abide in such effortless certainty! We let go and let God flow. Namaste.
