Lesson 314
I seek a future different from the past.
“Father, we were mistaken in the past, and choose to use the present to be free. Now do we leave the future in Your Hands, leaving behind our past mistakes, and sure that You will keep Your present promises, and guide the future in their holy light” (ACIM Lesson 314 2:1-2).
In Lesson 314, we walk towards a future free from the past. As judgments fall away, we are now fully open to receive God’s Will for us. We release control, and everything we thought we knew, to rest in God’s Hands.
The present moment holds all importance, as it births all futures ones. Thus, do we allow God, the God within us, to become the master of this very breath. If we desire a future of peace, peace must be the choice we make now. If one wants more love, one must choose more love, here and now. As we have stated before, you can’t keep looking the mirror waiting for your reflection to smile first, you must be the one to make the first move.
“The future now is recognized as but extension of the present” (ACIM Lesson 314 1:2).
No matter the circumstance of the moment, know you can always choose Love. That shift is the miracle. We learn nothing new today, but rather we deepen a previous lesson in which we practiced, “I can see peace instead of this” (Lesson 34). See peace now, and you see peace later. As you walk towards the future promised to you by God, reign in your thoughts, come back to the breath, and allow God to guide this moment and the rest are sure to follow. Namaste.
