Lesson 332
Fear binds the world. Forgiveness sets it free.
“We would not bind the world again today. Fear holds it prisoner. And yet Your Love has given us the means to set it free. Father, we would release it now. For as we offer freedom, it is given us. And we would not remain as prisoners, while You are holding freedom out to us” (ACIM Lesson 332 2:1-5).
A friend once told me, “The Truth needs no publicity,” as Truth has nothing to prove and has no battles to fight. In speaking of Truth, the Course reminds us, “It merely is” (ACIM Lesson 332 1:4). The Truth is effortless and when we release and trust into that vulnerability, it shines its Light upon all illusions, making what was thought to be separate, whole. Truth “holy” releases the mind that binds.
“Truth undoes its evil dreams by shining them away. Truth never makes attack. It merely is. And by tis presence is the mind recalled from fantasies, awakening to the real. Forgiveness bids this presence to enter in, and take its rightful place within the mind” (ACIM Lesson 332 1:2-6).
Today is an opportunity to scan our inner and outer world for any areas that need to be unchained. Where are we still clinching and holding onto something? Where are we still fearful to let go and trust God? In what areas does the ego still feels like it knows best?
A physical representation, and reminder, of today’s statement can make a big difference and can easefully help the ego relax, as often the ego does not want to “let go.” The ego desires freedom but only at its lead and as you know that is no freedom at all. Thus, after you review Lesson 332, I encourage you to sit for at least 5 minutes with your hands open on your lap, with your palms facing up. As your hands are open this lets the Universe know that you are no longer trying to “hold on” to your existence but rather are open and free to Its flow. You are not fearful of what is to come but are resting in what already is, Truth. Your entire being will relax with this humble offering of trust.
As we remember, “The Truth needs no publicity,” we naturally forgive the chains that have bound us: the chains we have placed upon ourselves and those we believe came from another. Freedom starts first with ourselves by remembering our unbound, unbridled Truth. Then it is granted automatically to others, as that is the flow of freedom, releasing simply into what Is and “holy” releasing the mind that binds. Namaste.
