Lesson 333
Forgiveness ends the dream of conflict here.
“Father, forgiveness is the light You chose to shine away all conflict and all doubt, and light way for our return to You. No light but this can end our evil dream. No light but this can save the world. For this alone will never fail in anything, being Your gift to Your beloved Son” (ACIM Lesson 333 2:1-4).
The Course in Miracles is actually just a course in forgiveness, that is why it says in the introduction, “It is a required course” (ACIM Introduction 1:2). No matter the path or spiritual book one reads, the Walk in Miracles will always be funneled down to a Walk in Forgiveness. It is a means of correcting our minds and vision to SEE the Truth: the perfection that is the Child of God, the Child that has never been separate from Her Source. Forgiveness is SEEing the Light and “no light but this” can integrate the ego and return Love to Its divine domain.
Our Divinity cannot be fooled. Heaven knows if there is “a little pinky” left behind. We are reminded today that we cannot release one thing and hold onto another. Light must come to abide in all areas of the mind. However this does not mean that you should feel guilty for those things you are not ready to release. Merely be aware of those areas, as that is the start of the process and all God needs. To use the example of a smoker, the smoker may be aware that he or she may want to quit but is not quite ready. Yet it is that one desire, that little piece of willingness, that will grow and soon tip the scales.
“Conflict must be resolved. It cannot be evaded, set aside, denied, disguised, seen somewhere else, called by another name, or hidden by deceit of any kind, if it would be escaped. It must be seen exactly as it is, where it is thought to be, in the reality which has been given it, and with the purpose that the mind accorded it. For only then are its defenses lifted, and the truth can shine upon it as it disappears” (ACIM Lesson 333 1:1-4).
As more and more Light illuminates the mind, choosing conflict begins to seem consciously insane. This is now the beauty of our awareness and may feel like both a blessing and a curse, as you can’t escape the fact that by now, you do know (because you have experienced) better. Thus, today, in order to fully release conflict and include “all pinkies” into heaven, we are reminded to not just pick and choose forgiveness, as if we were picking our favorite color of M&M’s out of the bag. Instead, get your hands in the holy dirt of the garden of forgiveness and go straight to the root. Don’t just pick and choose the ugly flowers to clear away from the soil bed to make the appearance “look good,” but rather go down deep, elbow deep, and clear the garden of your mind from the root, so as to ensure the end of all conflict. Bring up all weeds and rubbish and look upon it with a loving heart. Bring it ALL to the Light, allowing the Light of forgiveness to end any constrictions or conflictions within your inner and outer world. There is, “No Light But This,” that can lead you to your eternal peace. Namaste.
