Lesson 341
I can attack but my own sinlessness,
And it is only that which keeps me safe.
Father, Your Son is holy. I am he on whom You smile in love and tenderness so dear and deep and still the universe smiles back on You, and shares Your Holiness. How pure, how safe, how holy, then, are we, abiding in Your Smile, with all Your Love bestowed upon us, living one with You, in brotherhood and Fatherhood complete; in sinlessness so perfect that the Lord of Sinlessness conceives us as His Son, a universe of Thought completing Him” (ACIM Lesson 341 1:1-3)
The only one that can truly “attack” us is ourselves, by our thoughts, self-talk, visions, imaginations of the future, regrets of the past, etc. In order to see our perfection, WE must see our perfection. It is not a truth that someone else will know first in order for it to be valid and experienced on our end. To be the ONE, we must know we are the ONE: the one pure, holy, safe being that is a Child of God. It is a walk you must take and an experience you must intimately know in order for it to be Real. As we have stated before, for the Universe to smile back at you, you must crack the first grin.
Today’s lesson perfectly aligns with a scene from the first movie in The Matrix Trilogy when Neo visits the Oracle for the first time, inquiring if he is the ONE. If you look at this scene from the point of view that the Oracle is the Universe and Neo the Holy Son, you will understand how the Oracle’s response to Neo, “not being the One,” is merely based on the reflection of Neo’s own thoughts. In seeking hopeful answers in the Oracle, Neo is still searching outside himself, desiring for someone else to tell him of his sinlessness and safety. His uncertainty will continue to be reflected in the Universe until he knows he is the One. Until then his vacillation serves as his means of attack on the Self that is already safe. Does this dialogue and movie clip below sound familiar?
*Starting at minute 1:01*
Oracle: So, what do you think? Do you think you are the one?
Neo: Honestly, I don’t know.
Oracle: (Pointing to a Latin saying above the door) Do you know what that means? It is Latin. It means to know thyself. I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Being the ONE is just like being in love. No one can tell you are in love, you just know it. Through and through. Balls to bones. Well, I better have a look at you. Open your mouth and say “ahhh.”
Neo: Ahhh.
Oracle: (Giving Neo a look over and reads his palms) Now I’m supposed to say, “Um, that’s interesting…But…then you are supposed to say….”
Neo: But what…
Oracle: But you already know what I’m going to tell you
Neo: I’m not the One.
Oracle: Sorry, kid. You got the gift but it looks like you are waiting for something.
Neo: What?
Oracle: Your next life maybe, who knows? That’s the way these things go.
Do you think you are the ONE? Do you know you are the ONE? Something tells me that you do. Thus, BE IT. You are the miracle you have been waiting for. Be IT. You are the reflection you have wanted to see. SEE IT. Know the Truth of What you are. You are the Miracle of the Universe, of God. You have traveled many lifetimes to embody this very truth and here it is, yours for the taking.
“Let us not, then, attack our sinlessness, for it contains the Word of God to us. And in its kind reflection we are saved” (ACIM Lesson 341 2:1-2).
Abide in your holy sinlessness today as you rest in the completion of your divinity. Wait on no one or no thing, even an Oracle, for what you already Are…The ONE…The Miracle. Namaste.
