A Course in Miracles: Lesson 48

Lesson 48

There is nothing to fear.

Often a simple lesson like today can bring about more questions:

Really, there is nothing to fear, really?

Even death?

Even pain?

Even the death of a family member?

The health of a loved one?

The loss of a job?

The answer to any such question is always, “There is nothing to fear.” There are no exceptions. It is that simple. Often why this simplicity is tough to comprehend is because “it is very difficult to recognize it for those who want illusions to be true (ACIM Lesson 48 1:5).” Yes, today we are confronted with where we are not walking the talk and where within us we still desire the false safety that lies in illusion.

So yes, today does bring about more questions but they are more internal questions, such as:

Where am I still holding onto illusions?

Where does fear still reside?

Where do I still feel unsafe?

Where do I feel I still need my own personal strength?

In what areas do I not believe in the strength of God?

These are good questions to ask and ones that will lead you Home as you witness where you may not be in alignment with today’s statement. These are also brilliant to use throughout the day as you notice fear creeping up around certain circumstances. As much as I like to think I am fearless, it is still brought to my attention how my body feels when the airplane goes through bad turbulence or when I just escaped a near accident. You know, that moment when your body goes into “fight or flight” mode because it has sensed fear. Yes, it is those situations where I seem to still hold onto the illusions of this world and where I am not trusting that the strength of God will prevail. Trusting in God is recognizing that there is no fear in death nor in any other tragedy that appears to happen in the world. We am always safe in the arms of God.

In our lives we are given much food for thought for today’s lesson and for practice. Today, we walk the talk and find out where we are not. It is a wonderful day of pure awareness. And after that awareness arises we just rest in the simple statement that “There is nothing to fear.”

“The awareness that there is nothing to fear shows that somewhere in your mind, though not necessarily in a place your recognize as yet, you have remembered God, and let His strength take the place of your weakness. The instant you are willing to do this there is indeed nothing to fear (ACIM Lesson 48 3:2-3).”

What today’s walk is bringing us to is our remembrance of our abundance. We are in no threat of losing anything, lacking anything, or needing anything. As a Child of God, you inherit the entire Queendom. You are perfectly abundant in your being. But in order to recognize that you must first trust in the strength of God and that there is nothing to fear because nothing could harm Your Being, Your Abundance, Your Inheritance, or Your Heritage. It is simply that Divine.

Namaste.
