Lesson 63
The light of the world brings peace to every mind through my forgiveness.
Imagine for a moment that a friend asks you for $100 dollars. You would love to give it to her but you do not have it. This $100 would give your dear friend much peace of mind as it would mean that she could pay her utility bill and be able to keep the “lights” on in her house. Still, you do not have the money to give because you, yourself, do not have it. You could eventually get it if you worked for it. But until you do the work to obtain $100, you cannot give it to your friend which would also mean peace of mind. Do you see where I am going with this?
In the cycle of giving and receiving, we cannot give what we do not have. If we have not forgiven ourselves, how can we extend forgiveness? If we do not remember we are the Light of World, how can we offer remembrance? If we do not have peace, how can we show it to another? If we do not have $100, how can we give it to another?
The world is crying out for peace and it is only by recognizing our own Light that we can help create peace. It is a cycle that requires our presence to complete it. We must first recognize our innocence, through our forgiveness, to touch our Light. Once abiding in our own Light, we are peaceful, calm. This is the example we offer the world. This is how we create more peace in the world by extending our Light rays as showers of tranquility over the earth.
As we experienced yesterday, forgiveness is our means of remembering that we are the Light of the World. We know there is nothing to be forgiven for, we know we have done nothing wrong, and we know that others have done nothing wrong as well. It is our personal work, understanding, and above all our experience with forgiveness that allows our Light to shine. Our Light shines because we have the peace of mind of our remembrance. We begin to feed ourselves from the infinite Well of Love which abides within us. We tap into our own sustainability. When we do this, we do have something to give, our example, our Light.
“You are indeed the light of the world with such a function. The Son of God looks to you for his redemption (ACIM Lesson 63 2:1-2).”
As we abide in a place of Light, that energy calls out to the world around us. We become the Way Shower, the Trailblazer of Light. Abiding in this magnificent field of awareness can only give our brothers and sisters peace of mind. We don’t “do” peace, we “are” peace.
The world is waiting for you to wake up. Your brothers and sisters are waiting for you wake up to the remembrance so that they will remember too. You have picked up A Course in Miracles, no longer can you be idle. No longer can you stay in suffering. No longer can stay asleep. No longer can you utter theses words with your dear friend:
You: “You wake up.”
Friend: “No, you wake up.”
You: “No, you wake up.”
Friend: “No, you said you would wake up first.”
No longer can the cycle of denial go on. The Truth is in front of you knocking at your door, by your soul’s request, waiting for your experience. You can no longer stay asleep to the path that is lighted before you. Shall you proceed and be the extender of the Ultimate Gift?
“What purpose could you have that would bring you greater happiness (ACIM Lesson 63 1:3)?”
You are the extender of the Ultimate Gift: salvation, remembrance, AT-ONE-MENT. The time is NOW. The place is HERE. The way is LOVE and FORGIVENESS. You are ready. You have all you could ever need and more. Explore your Well of Love and shine your Light that extends peace to the world. The world waits upon YOU.
