A Course in Miracles: What is Salvation?

2.  What is Salvation?

We now approach a series of lessons (231 – 240) where the main focus is on the exploration of salvation.  It is clever that we advance from forgiveness to salvation, as salvation is the recognition that we are already whole and holy, which can only be seen through the eyes of forgiveness.  Forgiveness has led us to the knowledge that we are already at One with God, the At-One-Ment.  Salvation continues the process of undoing the idea that we have never done anything wrong.  We will see through our experience of salvation, that in the end, just like with forgiveness, there is no real need for salvation.  We already are Divine.

So why does the Course lead us on these escapades to discover an experience that will eventually be null and void?  As you have already experienced for yourself, it is part of the undoing process.  We are still undoing subtle habits of the human mind, as we create the soil for our holy mind to emerge and to be displayed in human form.  We are relearning to live as Christ, as a Child of God.

“Salvation is undoing in the sense that it does nothing, failing to support the world of dreams and malice.  Thus it lets illusions go.  By not supporting them, it merely lets them quietly go down to dust” (ACIM 2. What is Salvation?  3:1-3).

In our quiet time, we survey our mind, as the Voice of God guides us, for those places where we still hold onto our unworthiness.  Where are those places where we feel we are still not acceptable to claim our divinity?  Where do we still feel mad at God, separate from God, forgotten by God, and punished by God?  In our honest hours, we once more clarify our awareness to see that God is in us, never left us, and is laced in the world we see.  God, in Her infinite perfection, is everywhere, signifying our eternal union and our eternal holiness.  God does not Will for you to keep even a morsal of your essence out of Heaven.  God knows, that you are entirely Her Child, and even those parts you think are dark and twisty and not fit for the world, well, She already knows that those parts too, are fit for perfection.  Do you get what I am saying?  No part of you is not perfect.  No part of you needs to search for salvation because you are already saved.

“The Thought of peace was given to God’s Son the instant that his mind had thought of war.  There was no need for such a Thought before, for peace was given without opposite, and merely was” (ACIM 2. What is Salvation?  2:1-2).

In the moment of your creation there was only peace and love.  In our exercises of undoing, we have been going back to that moment that is still alive in us today.  Although we have been walking forward in miracles, we actually have been walking full circle back to that moment of our supreme birth: our Oneness and our Divine Love.

As we experience the subtleties of salvation, come to recognize the precipice of the final step, that there really is no step at all.  There is only the miracle, the shift in perception that awakens us to our Light, Love, and Divinity.  This is why you are already the Savior of the world.  Namaste.
