Lesson 75
The light has come.
Today is a day of celebration! It is a day in which we see a world forgiven and full of light. A world of Truth that reflects only what is Real. It is a beautiful opportunity for every awakened heart, as one sees beyond the shadows.
If you have ever wondered what this whole journey of salvation is about, it is this. It is the Sacred Sight given us, as we will there be light. The light has truly come. There is nothing we need do.
You may find yourself saying “But…I’m not sure I have forgiven this or that, fully. But…what if I’m not ready? But…” Yes, it can sometimes feel similar to when you are leaving your home for the airport and you are running a list through your mind, checking to see if you have forgotten to pack anything. Where you are going today, you have not forgotten anything and you are more than worthy and ready for the trip you are making. Where you are going, everything is provided for you.
“Keep an open mind, washed of all past ideas and clean of every concept you have made. You have forgiven the world today. You can look upon it now as you never saw it before. You do not know yet what it looks like. You merely wait to have it shown to you” (ACIM Lesson 75 6:2-6).
You look upon the world with Sacred Sight today. But what does a world forgiven look like? What does a world of light look like? Do not look for what you think a new world looks like. Do not look for what you think a peaceful world looks like. Let the “thinking mind” go. The small mind could never imagine such a world and the magnificence to which you will be shown. Whatever the small mind conjures up, you are sure to be disappointed. But once we let go and let the Holy Spirit guide us into our Sacred Sight of a new world, we are shown the brilliance of a world that we could never dream with the small mind.
“We dedicate this day to the serenity in which God would have you be. Keep it in your awareness of yourself and see it everywhere today, as we celebrate the beginning of your vision and the sight of the real world, which has come to replace the unforgiven world you thought was real” (ACIM Lesson 75 11:1-2).
The world in which you will see today, in order for it to be known, it must first be shown. Let down your imagination and let the Holy Spirit guide your Sacred Sight and show you the true light that is in the world,
“Understand that the Holy Spirit never fails to give the fit of sight to the forgiving. Believe He will not fail you now. You have forgiven the world. He will be with you as you watch and wait. He will show you what true vision sees” (ACIM Lesson 75 7:2-6).
This lesson also hints to us the swiftness of forgiveness. It happens in an instant. It does not take time. It does not take repeating mantras or revisiting meditations of light. All helpful tools and useful to our journey but today we recognize that once something is forgiven, with the heart, it is done. There are no points for length of time spent forgiving or length of time spent efforting or length of time spent in suffering. The only time in now. All God sees is NOW. And once we see with our Sacred Sight, we shall only see NOW.
Thus, we celebrate today not only the new world but the realization that forgiveness is as quick as a choice and is done, just like that. The world that awaits you is Here and Now. Enjoy the light!
