Lesson 262
Let me perceive no differences today.
“Father, You have one Son. And it is he that I would look upon today. He is Your one creation. Why should I perceive a thousand forms in what remains as one? Why should I give this one a thousand names, when only one suffices? For Your Son must bear Your Name, for You created him. Let me not see him as a stranger to his Father, nor as stranger to myself. For he is part of me and I of him, and we are part of You Who are our Source, eternally united in Your Love; eternally the holy Son of God” (ACIM Lesson 262 1:1-8).
Today speaks of true vision, to see beyond separate bodies and forms to the One Heart. Can you look at your fellow brothers and sisters and recognize the Child of God that is before you? Go past the individual names, hair color, eye color, roles, and identities and see the Oneness that connects us all. This is what it means to go beyond the body to that which is Real. It is what it means to connect to the Greatness in us all.
To see the Light in others is a true art form and gift in the world. And something we can definitely use more of. Perhaps, give this a try, go to a public place, park yourself for a bit, and just watch your brothers and sisters walk by. As each one passes, in your mind, or maybe at a whisper, say, “There is a Child of God. There is the Light.” This is truly a transformative exercise. You can also do this while someone is talking to you. As you are attentively listening, let it these words run in your awareness like a marquee on Times Square in New York City, “A Child of God is before me. I am one with the Light that I see.” Of course, this is easy to do, potentially, when you do not know the person. However, give this a try with all people, even ones who may appear to cause a lot of drama or disruption in the world. Perhaps, even turn on the news and do this exercise. Let it bring to mind how wonderful it is to witness all the miraculous things that Love can do, even when it appears to be insane and crazy. Can you see the oneness in madness too? What one of us is capable of, so are we all. That is our oneness in action.
Perceive no good or bad, today: no right or wrong: no sane or insane. See past any definitions of separation to the Light in all. It is there. No matter what, there is always a crack of light around. Namaste.
