Lesson 326
I am forever an Effect of God.
Father, I was created in Your Mind, a holy Thought that never left its home. I am forever Your Effect, and You forever and forever are my Cause. As You created me I have remained. Where You establish me I still abide. And all Your attributes abide in me, because it is Your Will to have a Son so like his Cause that Cause and Its Effect are indistinguishable. Let me know that I am an Effect of God, and so I have the power to create like You. And as it is in Heaven, so on earth. Your plan I follow here, and at the end I know that You will gather Your effects into the tranquil Heaven of Your Love, where earth will vanish, and all separate thoughts unite in glory as the Son of God” (ACIM Lesson 326 1:1-8).
Is there anything more powerful than knowing you are the Effect of God? Perhaps the only thing more profound would be to go beyond the “knowledge” to a place of embodying the Effect in every breath, thought, and movement; inevitably bringing Heaven upon earth. Today is the confirmation that we are not the effect of our environment, choices, family structure, social status, or the opinions of others, including the opinions we may have of ourselves; rather above all, we are the affirmation that we are “forever an Effect of God.”
So close is our union that, “Cause and Its Effect are indistinguishable,” speaking intimately of the continual birthing of the living Christ, a Daughter/Son eternally created in the image of its undeniable Source. Never roaming far from the Womb of Creation, merely just a thought away, we explored a life pretending as though we were not an Effect of God; instead Her Cause, insanely thinking we had all the control and will. However, today, we walk within and explore the attributes we are gifted as the holy Effect of God. We give thanks for them, we honor them, and we share them with the world, as that is our one Will. We birth our Home exactly where we are, no longer waiting for the perfect environment and circumstances to appear, knowing that because we are birthed in Her image, we too, have the power to create a world around us that is our Effect, based on Our goodness, love, and perfection. This is when the earth will fade away and the holy vision of Heaven will be restored. Again, could there be anything more powerful than this? Rest and trust in the beauty that is the holy Effect of God, You. Namaste.
